About The VHT

The Virus Help Team (VHT) was founded when 5 members of Safe Hex International left at the end of 1994 to go off on their own, and they started the Virus Help Team Denmark (later to become Virus Help Denmark, though the VHT-DK abbreviation remains). From there, three more "branches" have started up, in Canada, Norway and, of course, the Netherlands.

Our aims are to remove viri from circulation. In order to achieve this, we have a "mission statement":

We can only fully live up to this mission statement with help from you, the public. This means reporting any virus infections to us, so that we can test it and help anti-virus programmers to include protection against it in their software. We also need you to download (if it's freeware or shareware) or buy the necessary software, and keep it updated. If you get shareware software, please pay the fee to encourage the author to continue developing it.

About This Site

This website has been set up to offer the latest advice, downloads and warnings. There are, of course, other means of reaching the VHT, which you can find on the Contact page.

This site was built in FrontPage Express for Windows98. If this site appears in Tahoma (Windows), Arial (Windows), Helvetica (Linux) or Chicago (MacOS), then you do not have the font to view it as it was intended (Verdana, TrueType font). Unfortunately, we regret that as the font is copyrighted, we cannot offer it for download. However, we believe we have chosen the best fallback fonts we can for each platform. Amiga users are unaffected by this, since no browsers can yet use the FONT FACE tag.

Although the site was built on a screen that was 1024x768, 32-bit colour, we believe that it will be viewable on screens as small as 640x200, 4 colours. However, we recommend that, for optimal viewing, you view this site on a screen no smaller than 800x600, 256 colours. If you are using Internet Explorer, please switch the font size to Smaller by choosing View -> Text Size -> Smaller from the menus.

This site has been tested in Internet Explorer 5 (Windows), Netscape 4.7 (Linux), Lynx (Linux and Amiga) and ALynx (Amiga). We have designed it so that as many browsers as possible can view it, and will work with anyone who has trouble with it, to make it viewable in all browsers.

Thank you for visiting this site, by downloading the software and following the advice on it, you are helping in the fight against viruses.
